Sheffield is reported to be the safest large city in the UK, but like any big city anywhere in the world, it is not crime free.
In 2018, Times Higher Education carried out a survey; The Student Experience Survey: The Safest UK Universities, voting University of Sheffield as the 21st saftest University in the UK out of total of 116 Universities, and as a populous conurbation, safety per head would rank the University of Sheffield even higher.
Safe Sheffield
Safe Sheffield is a city-wide initiative to help students in Sheffield stay as safe as possible whilst they are living and studying here.
This scheme has been developed in association with Sheffield Students’ Union, Sheffield Hallam University and South Yorkshire Police, covering everything from burglary to safety after dark, and from theft to recognising online scams.
